This family line was commenced in Liberty County by Lazarus Mallard (1748-1814) before the Revolutionary War. The direct line of descent of John Mallard (1776-1810) is John Boyd Mallard Sr. (1808-1877), son of John Mallard; John Boyd Mallard Jr. (1855-1895); Wallace W. Mallard Sr., and Wallace W. Mallard Jr. (1883-1919).
